Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, participated in the Warsaw Security Forum, where he spoke on a panel dedicated to the security challenges of the Black Sea region under the new European Commission.

In his address, Mr. Samkharadze emphasized the importance of the Black Sea region for Europe's security, the geopolitical factors highlighted by the European Union, Russia's occupation of Georgian territories, the significance of EU and NATO enlargement, and the ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine.

He stated: "Today, both Georgia and the whole of Europe face multiple challenges. Conflicts in our region undermine the stability and development of the Black Sea region. To strengthen collective European security, the best solution is the expansion of both NATO and the EU, including the participation of Georgia and Ukraine. This would bring the Black Sea region under a unified security umbrella, ultimately promoting stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region, which is in the interest of both Europe and Georgia. Therefore, the EU and the new European Commission must act considering these geopolitical factors and prepare the EU for further enlargement through internal reforms".
